Mailer House Says Think ‘Less Stress’ This Weekend

The weekend is upon us. Fridays are always great days when it comes to people just simply being happy. That feeling of optimism in the air is always a nice thing.

Relaxing is a part of success, believe it or not. If everyone at Mailer House were only focused on printing and mailing statements, or business card services, we’d drive ourselves nuts. It would be overkill (and that’s coming from a printing / mailing company that truly digs what we do!).

Downtime needs to happen. And hopefully that downtime happens on the weekends as it does for most of the masses.

Here are a few ideas that our team members gave us for relaxing on a weekend.

Do Yoga.

Yoga is one of the best ways a person can relax and destress. But many people are adverse to yoga because they aren’t really familiar with how it works. Yoga is exercises based on your core and your own leverage. You don’t have to currently be in great shape to achieve amazing results in yoga, you just have to be willing to show up and give some effort. You won’t be lifting weights or sprinting, you will operate solely on your own matt. Instructors are great at guiding new people, just make sure you take a beginner yoga class and that you let the instructor know it is your first time. You could also have a yoga instructor come by your home, as well. In the end, your body will feel stretched and liberated and your brain will feel clear and healthy.

Get an in-home massage.

Soothe is an application you put on your phone which allows you to order specific types of massages to your home (or office, but this weekend, we sure hope you aren’t at the office). The app pays the masseuse (tip included). The masseuse bring his or her table along. Many also have candles and music to add to the tranquility of the situation. And you go nowhere. You don’t worry with tipping and paying on the spot. You just relax in the comfort of your own home.

Read something fun.

Our work weeks are spent reading items which help us function. We read spreadsheets, financial reports and tutorials on how to fix website issues. We read emails from complainers or sales teams. We track social media for business purposes. All of this amounts to our brains starting to interpret reading as just another stressor. So why not read something that’s fun? When was the last time you picked up a cool book you wanted to read? Or even went online to find articles that interest you from a hobbyist’s perspective? Doing so can help you relax and enjoy time spent digesting walls of words.
